Sociedade frágil... e dependente/ Fragile society... and dependent

Você já parou para pensar em como nosso sistema social e modo moderno de viver é frágil e escravizante?

Sim, escravizante. Você leu certo!

Tudo que fazemos hoje depende cada vez mais das tecnologias, e não só delas, mas da energia. Sem esta, NADA acontece atualmente.

No último mês, vimos as principais redes sociais de internet ficarem fora do ar, alguns sistemas ligados a elas e à internet ficaram instáveis; e na cidade em que vivo por exemplo, devido a um temporal, ficamos diversas horas sem energia. Encurtando a história, se já se fazia muita coisa pela internet antes, agora, pós pandemia, faz-se ainda mais, ou seja, mais DEPENDENTES ficamos. E quando estes param de funcionar, ficamos completamente reféns de nossas incapacidades.

Aí, você pergunta: ‘Então você é contra a tecnologia? É a favor da época das cavernas?’

Não, claro que não! Mas sou completamente contra a dependência, de qualquer tipo!

Nesta pandemia, coincidentemente (será?), tudo foi impulsionado e direcionado para a internet por exemplo, aí pensamos: nossa que fácil, prático, tudo funciona mais rápido e de forma ‘simples’, em apenas um clique. No entanto, também em um clique, ficamos sem a ‘ferramenta’ de trabalho, por quê?

Porque ela NÃO é mais nossa! Nos foi tirada pouco a pouco ao longo do processo de formação da civilização moderna.

Explico melhor... Sabe um sapateiro? (eu sei, tem lugar que essa profissão nem existe mais...)

Antigamente ele era dono do seu trabalho, responsável pelo processo inteiro de fabricação de sapato. Quando os sapatos começaram a ser produzidos por máquinas e em larga escala, o sapateiro perdeu seu emprego, passou a trabalhar para os donos das máquinas e aos poucos esta profissão foi sumindo. Se é mais fácil apertar um botão, para quê aprender o ofício todo? Não é mesmo?

Só que neste processo, quem deixou de aprender o ofício passou a depender dos donos das máquinas, e da vontade deles, e, também, da energia, já que sem esta nem a máquina produz sapatos e nem o sapateiro, que já não tem o conhecimento para tal. O que tiramos daqui?

Não importa o quão tecnológicos sejamos, se não tivermos conhecimento, não temos nada.

E este exemplo pode ser aplicado a praticamente todos os setores da sociedade atual...

Sem as atuais tecnologias/energia, muita gente hoje considerada ‘produtiva’ simplesmente deixaria de o ser. E no campo econômico-financeiro nem se fala... Já imaginou todo mundo com moedas digitais e, de repente, em um clique, todo o sistema apagasse? Compraríamos o quê, com o quê?

Conseguiu pescar a dependência a que fomos direcionados só pelo prazer da comodidade e do conforto? Achamos que somos livres e que fazemos a escolha que queremos, só que não. É MUITA propaganda atuando há muitos, muitos anos.

Sempre dependeremos de algo, de uma forma ou de outra, isto é claro como água, afinal nós, sem a natureza, não somos nada, nós somente SOMOS com ela e nela. No entanto, quanto mais complexa a vida, maior a dependência, quanto mais simples a vida, menor a dependência e maior a colaboração.

A natureza está aí, e sempre nos oferecendo o que precisamos na forma mais simples e gratuita, porém nós, em vez de colaborarmos com ela, nos desconectamos e a destruímos para depois criarmos um substituto artificial do que ela nos dá e cobrar por isso... Originalmente somos livres, mas escolhemos virar escravos das ditas ‘nossas invenções’...

Nessas horas me questiono, o ser humano é realmente inteligente?

Aí me lembro de que Oscar Wilde dizia: ‘Viver é a coisa mais rara do mundo. A maioria das pessoas apenas existe!

Viver e se distrair são dois caminhos, a escolha é sempre nossa!

Courage over Comfort / Coragem acima do Conforto

Have you ever stopped to think how fragile, and enslaving our social system and our modern way of living are?

Yes, enslaving. You read it right!

Everything we do nowadays depends, more and more, on technologies, and not just on them, but also on energy. Without this one, NOTHING happens.

This last month, we’ve seen the main social nets on the internet out of work, some systems connected to both were unstable; and in the city I live, for example, because of a big storm, we ran out of power for several hours. Making it short, if we’ve already been doing a lot through the internet before, now, post pandemic situation, we’re doing much, much more, so, more DEPENDENT we’ve become. And then, when they stop working, we’re completely hostages of our incapacities.

So, you ask: ‘Are you against technology? Do you prefer the ‘cave era’?’

No, of course not! But I’m completely against dependence, of any kind!

During this pandemic, coincidentally (really?), everything was directed to the internet for example, and we tend to think: ‘how easy, practical, everything works faster and in a ‘simpler’ way, with just one click. However, also in a click, we can be without our work ‘tool’, why?

Because it is NO LONGER ours! It was taken from us little by little along the building process of modern civilization.

I’ll explain better… Are you familiar with a shoemaker? (I know, in some places this job doesn’t even exist anymore…)

In the old days, the shoemaker used to be the owner of his work, responsible for the whole process of fabricating the shoe. When the shoes began to be produced by machines and in larger scale, the shoemaker lost his job, he started working for the machine owners and little by little this job began to disappear. If it’s easier to press a button, why learning the whole crafting/profession? Isn’t that so?

But with this, the one who gives up learning the whole profession is now dependent on the machine owners, and their will, and, also, on energy, since without energy machines don’t produce shoes, nor the shoemaker, as he no longer has the knowledge for such. What do we learn from this?

It doesn’t matter how technological we are, if we don’t have knowledge, we have nothing.

And this example can be applied to virtually all areas of our current society…

Without the current technologies/energy, lots of people who, today, are considered ‘productive’ would simply cease to be. And not even mentioning the financial/economic sector…Have you ever imagined everyone using digital coins and, suddenly, in one click, all the system was simply deleted? What would we buy, and with what?

Could you get it, the dependence to which we’ve been driven to? Just for the pleasure of convenience and comfort… We think we’re free and that we make the choice we want, but no. It’s TOO MUCH propaganda working on for many, many years.

We’ll always depend on something, in one way one or another, it’s crystal clear, after all we, without nature, are nothing, we only ARE with it and in it. Therefore, the more complex life is, the more the dependence, the simpler it is, less dependent and the bigger the collaboration is.

Nature is there, always offering us what we need in the simplest way and freely, yet we, instead of collaborating with her, disconnected ourselves and destroy her so then we create an artificial substitute of what she gives us, and we charge for it… Originally, we are free, but we choose to be slaves of our so-called inventions…

At those times I ask myself, are human beings really intelligent?

Then I remember what Oscar Wilde used to say: ‘To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people just exist!’

Living and getting distracted are two ways, the choice is always ours!
